Farmer Boys Rewards Guests Who Give a Helping Hand

RIVERSIDE, Calif., Sept. 6, 2011 // PRNewswire // — Continuing its legacy of giving back to the communities it serves, Farmer Boys announced today the launch of its 11th Annual Give a Helping Hand fundraiser, which begins Tuesday, September 6 and continues through Sunday, October 2, 2011.  The fundraiser benefits the Loma Linda University Children's Hospital, which serves over 1.2 million children and is the only Level 1 Regional Trauma Center covering a four-county area that includes Riverside, San Bernardino, Inyo and Mono Counties.

Throughout the fundraiser timeframe, Farmer Boys guests will be invited to make a donation by "purchasing" a paper Lion Heart icon for $1.00 or more.  Lion Heart icons commemorating each donation will be displayed in Farmer Boys restaurants to recognize and celebrate the generosity of the community in supporting the Loma Linda University Children's Hospital.

Every Farmer Boys guest who makes a donation during the fundraiser timeframe will receive a coupon for 20% off any single purchase of $5.00 or more before December 31, 2011.

"Giving back to the neighborhoods and communities we serve is a hallmark of the Farmer Boys brand that we have proudly upheld over the past 30 years," said Ken Clark, President and Chief Operating Officer of Farmer Boys. "We have set a goal of raising $30,000 for the Loma Linda University Children's Hospital over the next four weeks — dollars that this renowned facility can use to further the critical care it provides local children in need."

Since 2000, Farmer Boys, along with its guests, has raised over $260,000 for the Loma Linda University Children's Hospital.  The company also sponsored the hospital's 26th Annual Children's Day in May, where over 1,100 children participated in free demonstrations to learn about fire and water safety, as well as health awareness.
