Sir Speedy Sponsors Motorcyclist Leslie Porterfield for Second Year

She Continues to Smash Records at Bonneville Events

September 07, 2011 // Franchising.com // MISSION VIEJO, CA — Sir Speedy, Inc. recently announced it will sponsor Leslie Porterfield, "The fastest woman in the world on a motorcycle," for a second year. Shortly after the announcement, Porterfield set two new records at Utah's Bonneville Salt Flats. First, at the mid-August Speedweek event, she rode a Honda CBR1000 to a remarkable 197mph. Then, at the BUB Speed Trials, held August 27-September 1, she broke the production 1000cc class FIM/AMA world record, taking the same bike to a blistering 200.137 mph. It was the first time a bike of this kind has had a record over 200 mph. Her next event is the Top Speed Shootout, Sept. 19-24. Says Leslie, "Having Sir Speedy's support for a second race season is fantastic! I am looking forward to setting new world records and making history in Land Speed Racing aboard the Sir Speedy Honda racebikes."

Leslie Porterfield holds a Guinness World Record as the fastest woman in the world on two wheels, having reached 232.5 mph in 2008. This year Leslie will ride four motorcycles in four different classes, all of which will be painted Sir Speedy's signature red and adorned with the Sir Speedy logo.
