Volvo Rents 'Digging' Its Way Into Dayton

Worldwide provider of construction equipment opens local store; Looks to capitalize on projected growth of construction spending

September 26, 2011 // Franchising.com // Asheville, NC – Anchored by an increase in local construction spending that is projected to total more than $6.2 billion between 2012 and 2016, Volvo Rents is looking to grab a bigger piece of the construction equipment rental pie that is currently up for grabs in Dayton.

A worldwide provider of small-to-medium sized construction equipment, Volvo Rents recently opened a new company-owned rental center at 1500 Kuntz Road in Dayton.

"Despite the weakened economy, the construction equipment rental industry is projected to be one of the fastest growing industries in North America, as more people are choosing to rent rather than commit to capital expenditures," said Larry Kirkpatrick, division manager of the new store. "Our strong brand recognition, coupled with the growing demand for construction equipment rental, allows us to look to the future with great enthusiasm."

The new rental center is Volvo Rents' third in Ohio – joining existing locations in Columbus and Cincinnati – and will service all of Dayton and its surrounding counties.

In addition to Volvo Rents' expanding line of Volvo compact equipment – such as backhoe and skid steer loaders, compact wheel loaders and compact excavators – the new center carries a comprehensive line of essential equipment and tools for the construction, commercial, industrial and homeowner markets. The focus is on daily, weekly and monthly rentals.

Although the store's hours will be 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., the company offers 24-hour service, every day of the week.

"That local oversight is crucial to the Volvo Rents approach," said store manager Gary Hutzel. "Ten percent of our customers do 80 percent of the business, and giving them a VIP level of service is paramount."
