Illinois Real Estate Veteran to Open RE/MAX Ultimate Professionals in Shorewood

Chicago, IL, September 30, 2011 --(PR.com)--Kathy Dames, a 27-year real estate veteran, will open her own RE/MAX office in Shorewood, Ill., when RE/MAX Ultimate Professionals debuts in November at 576 Brookforest Ave. , in the Brookforest Plaza shopping center.

For Dames, who has been a top-producing real estate agent since 1984, the move gives her the chance to pass on the real estate knowledge she has acquired during her nearly three decades of selling residential real estate.

"I like to see people succeed," Dames said. "I really do. I'm happy for them when that happens. I'd like to pass on my experience and knowledge to the agents at my office. I think I can help the agents who affiliate with my office reach their full potential. That will be a wonderful thing for me to accomplish at this point in my career."

Dames' goal is to create an office that is truly top of the line. She'll have help in this task from Ed Mattox, her husband, a builder and owner of the Kipling Group in Shorewood. Dames is confident that Mattox, who is overseeing the build-out of Dames' RE/MAX Ultimate Professionals office, will deliver a high-quality product. In his 30 years as a builder, Mattox has already completed more than 4,000 homes and commercial buildings, several of which earned the most prestigious awards the industry offers.

The office will feature a large conference room for meetings and a fireplace to provide a cozy atmosphere on cold days. Dames has plans for a classic modern-deco registration desk, behind which will sit a big-screen TV that will showcase both property listings and agents, highlighting the agents' contact information and biographies.

The office's location is a positive, too. It sits alongside well-traveled Route 59, and is close to the on/off ramp to Interstate 55. Because the office is a storefront, it will be immediately visible to motorists driving through this busy section of Shorewood.

The retail center in which the office is located is a strong one, too, anchored by three restaurants that are local favorites. And the office's big-screen TV is large enough so that diners walking to and from these restaurants will be able to see it from the sidewalk. ″Those diners who are in the market to buy a house or are interested in selling might just remember one of those agents' faces displayed across the TV,″ Dames said.

"I looked at a lot of RE/MAX offices before making this move," Dames said. "My goal is to make this the nicest RE/MAX office possible. I want my agents to be able to bring their clients to this office and feel proud that they're working from this location."

The new RE/MAX Ultimate Professionals office will cover 1,900 square feet once it opens for business. Dames' goal is an office staffed by 20 agents. Currently, she has several agents considering making the move to her new office.

Those agents who do join her will be greeted with the latest in technology, from the newest copiers and scanners to high-speed Internet access.

"A lot of people were surprised when I told them I was going to do this. They asked me, 'You're 52 now. Why not slow down?'" Dames said. "Why take 27 years of a career and say 'goodnight?' I get so many leads a day, it's amazing. I want to distribute those leads to good quality agents and will be looking for the best agents to staff this office. I am taking on a new adventure by opening this office, but it's an adventure that will let me help others grow and be even more successful than they are now. I have always been a team player. Agents know that of me," Dames noted.
