Woodcraft Welcomes Second Season of Rough Cut - Woodworking with Tommy Mac

PARKERSBURG, W. VA. (September 2011) – Rough Cut – Woodworking with Tommy Mac returns to public television for its second season on Saturday, Oct. 1, with 13 brand-new traditional- and contemporary-style projects to share with viewers, along with road trips to exciting new sites. Produced by WGBH Boston and distributed by American Public Television, Rough Cut earned a Daytime® Emmy Award nomination after its first season. For show times, check local listings or visit www.thomasjmacdonald.com/stationfinder.

Major funding for Rough Cut is provided by Woodcraft, and additional funding is provided by Bessey, Easy Wood Tools, General International, Oneida Air Systems, Rikon and Titebond.

For Rough Cut's second season, Tommy will craft projects ranging from a Greene and Greene inspired Dressing Mirror and a Laminated Coat Rack, to a Sand-Shaded Clock and Potting Station, using both power and hand tools (his favorite). Viewers will see a mix of woodworking techniques and processes, including finger joints, cloud lifts, turning, and carving, along with "T-Mac tips." Tommy's expanded travel itinerary includes California, where he gains design inspiration from the Arts and Crafts work of architects Charles and Henry Greene at the Gamble House in Pasadena.

Rough Cut viewers can learn more about the show, Tommy and related instructional materials at www.roughcutwoodworking.com. In November, The Taunton Press is scheduled to release Rough Cut – Woodworking with Tommy Mac, the companion book to season one. Also in November, PBS Distribution will release the first four Rough Cut season two DVDs and plans, with additional DVDs and plans to be ready in January and March 2012.
