Realogy CEO Richard A. Smith Named To SmartMoney 'Power 30' List Of World's Most Influential Players

October 12, 2011 // Franchising.com // PARSIPPANY, N.J. - Realogy Corporation, a leading provider of real estate and relocation services, today announced that Richard A. Smith, its president and CEO, was named among the "Power 30: The World’s Most Influential Players," SmartMoney magazine’s current cover story. The annual list is compiled by the reporters and editors of SmartMoney, who set out to answer the question, "Who are the individuals (or groups of people) who will figure prominently in the financial pages in the coming year – the folks who will, in a sense, shape the economy around the world and here at home?"

The Power 30 list is divided into five categories: Finance, Baby Boomers, Jobs & the Economy, Industry & Innovation and World Affairs. Smith appears in the Industry & Innovation category, along with Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, and Larry Page, co-founder and CEO of Google. Other notable leaders on the Power 30 list include Jamie Dimon, CEO of JPMorgan Chase; Ben Bernanke, chairman of the Federal Reserve Board; New Jersey Governor Chris Christie; and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

The SmartMoney feature had the following to say about Smith and Realogy:

"Few real estate executives can boast that their firm played a role in one in every four home sales (involving a broker) in the country last year. But as head of the real estate conglomerate that counts Century 21, Coldwell Banker and Sotheby's International Realty among its brands, Smith, 58, can say precisely that. The company’s offices accounted for $113 billion in residential sales volume last year – more than three times what the second-largest brokerage pulled in."
