CousinsSubs(R) Looks to Build on Successful Community Partnership by Helping More Groups in South Milwaukee, Franklin, OakCreek, Greenfield, Greendale and Cudahay

Stores have already donated more than $10,000; Seeking more local nonprofits to help

October 17, 2011 // Franchising.com // FRANKLIN, Wis. - Cousins Subs® today announced it will continue a successful tradition of community involvement by partnering with area nonprofits for donation days and other charity events at four stores in South Milwaukee, Franklin, Oak Creek and Greenfield. The stores are on track to raise more than $20,000 for local groups since setting a goal of one donation night a month at each location through 2010 and 2011, and are now looking for partners for 2012.

"Community involvement is one thing that sets Cousins Subs apart, and at our stores, we've found that donation days and other special events are a great way to have fun, enjoy a delicious sub and help worthy local organizations at the same time," said Thomas Jones, who owns the stores with his sister, Cheryl. "We are proud to have been able to support so many outstanding community groups over the past two years - in one year alone, we raised more than $10,000. We want to continue to grow these positive relationships in 2012, as well as find new organizations that could benefit from our help."

During a donation day, Cousins Subs contributes 10 percent of sales to a designated nonprofit organization. In some cases, guests also have the opportunity to make additional donations directly to the group. In 2011, donation days benefited South Milwaukee and Oak Creek Interfaith, Franklin Educational Foundation, Our Father's Lutheran School, St. Alphonsus Catholic School in Greendale, Greenfield Parks and Rec, South Milwaukee D.A.R.E. program and Divine Mercy in South Milwaukee. Additionally, a recent school supply drive at the stores was so successful that the Joneses donated 384 boxes of supplies to area school districts.

About Cousins Subs

Cousins Subs, based in Menomonee Falls in suburban Milwaukee, is a restaurant specializing in East Coast-style submarine sandwiches made with the finest ingredients served on a variety of freshly baked breads, along with salads, soups, chips and soft drinks. The tradition of Cousins Subs started in 1972, when two transplanted cousins from Atlantic City saw the need for an East Coast-style sub shop in their new hometown. They patterned their subs after the hoagie, grinder, hero and sub sandwiches they enjoyed back East. And with a dedication to delivering quality subs at fair prices, they opened their first restaurant. From the start, the two used bread baked fresh every morning and insisted on using only the finest, freshest ingredients. For more information, visit www.cousinssubs.com.
