Vacation rentals company offers accommodations near venue for one of the nation’s top vintage car competitions – book now for deals

October 21, 2011 // Franchising.com // Hilton Head, SC - Classic car connoisseurs will converge on Hilton Head Island next weekend for the Hilton Head Island Motoring Festival & Concours d'Elegance. The multi-day festival, which includes the Savannah Speed Classic (Oct. 28-30), Motoring Midway (Nov. 5-6) and Car Club Jamboree (Nov. 5), will culminate on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011, with more than 150 vintage automobiles competing for “Best of Show” in the Concours d’Elegance.

The Hilton Head Island Motoring Festival & Concours d’Elegance, which was recognized as one of the Southeast Tourism Society’s “Top 20 Events” for Fall 2011, will kick off on Friday, Oct. 28 through Sunday, Nov. 6, with three of the four signature events taking place at the Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn. The fourth event, the Savannah Speed Classic, will be held at the Grand Prize of America Track on Hutchinson Island, Ga.
Dennis Gage, the mustachioed host of the SPEED Channel’s “My Classic Car” television series and honorary chairman of this year’s Motoring Festival, will be in attendance on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 5 and 6, for the events at the Museum. The Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn is located near the north end of Hilton Head Island at 70 Honey Horn Drive, off Business 278 / William Hilton Pkwy.

The annual Motoring Festival is produced by Hilton Head Island Concours d'Elegance, Inc., a non-profit organization that seeks to entertain and educate the community with a unique, multi-day Lowcountry motoring experience while supporting youth programs. Proceeds from the festival benefit Driving Young America (DYA), a charitable fund established by the Hilton Head Island Motoring Festival and Concours d’Elegance in 2007. DYA awards scholarships to young people seeking an education to pursue a career in the automotive industry including design, engineering, performance, safety, service/repair, restoration or historical preservation.
