1-800-GOT-JUNK? Aims to Double Company Revenues With New Chief Operating Officer

VANCOUVER, Oct. 26, 2011 // PRNewswire // - 1-800-GOT-JUNK? has added a new face to the company's driver seat, announcing today the hiring of a Chief Operating Officer. Founder and CEO Brian Scudamore has held the keys to both the visionary and operational offices for almost two years, and initiated an exhaustive search several months ago to locate a strong, executional leader with the skills to significantly grow the company. In hiring new COO, Erik Church, Scudamore says it's time for a "two-in-the-box" concept of leadership to lead the world's largest junk removal company into future growth.

"I am very excited to welcome Erik to 1-800-GOT-JUNK? and to a "two-in-the-box" leadership approach, pairing both of our strengths - my visionary and cultural direction, with Erik's operational and executional skill," said Brian Scudamore.

Erik Church comes to 1-800-GOT-JUNK? after 10 years with EF Education Canada, the largest privately-held education company in the world - the past four years as President. Under his leadership, EF Education Canada more than doubled profits and market penetration during tough economic times. Erik says it's gratifying to leave a position after achieving such success, and he's excited about utilizing his talent for driving growth and overcoming challenges, at 1-800-GOT-JUNK?.

"During a lengthy interview process I've come to realize that Brian and I are well-aligned to lead this company to significant growth," says Erik. "I've also spent time with the leadership team and franchise partners and I truly believe that, guided by the needs of our customers and franchise partners, I can affect positive change within the company in a meaningful way."

As a hands-on leader, Erik will spend most of the first few months at the company's Junktion head office in Vancouver and out in the field meeting with franchise partners to understand key concerns and areas where his leadership can have the most immediate impact. His responsibility will be to translate the 1-800-GOT-JUNK? vision into strategic and operational plans that are realistic and capable of delivering positive growth results. Erik begins November 1st.
