Burger 21 Announces Grand Opening of Second Location
TAMPA, Fla. – (Oct. 18, 2011) – Burger 21 (http://www.burger21.com), a fast casual, chef-inspired burger and shake concept founded in 2010, announces the grand opening of its second location Sunday, Oct. 23, at 11777 N. Dale Mabry Highway in Tampa.
“We have achieved great success at our Westchase location, and we’re very excited to expand into Carrollwood as we receive high demand for our affordably priced craft burgers and shakes from area residents,” said Mark Johnston, chief concept officer of Front Burner Brands, management company of Burger 21, and CEO and president of Burger 21. “The future looks bright for Burger 21 as we open this location and look to expand across Tampa Bay and beyond.”
Highlights of the second location include the following:
- Hired 67 new team members for Carrollwood
- Approximately 2,900 square feet inside
- Patio is an additional 340 square feet
- Seats 90 customers inside and 28 outside on the patio
- Hours of operation are Monday – Thursday 11 a.m. – 10 p.m., Friday – Saturday 11 a.m. – 11 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. – 9:30 p.m.
This marks the second location for Burger 21 after the concept launched in Tampa (Westchase area) at 9664 West Linebaugh Ave. in November 2010. Mark Johnston selected Carrollwood for the second location because it is in Front Burner Brands’ backyard (the headquarters is located near Busch Blvd. and Dale Mabry Hwy), his team knows this area inside and out, and they wanted to continue targeting a similar type of audience that has contributed to the brand’s success.
Three additional sites in the Tampa Bay area are in consideration right now for further expansion as well as heavy interest from parties outside of the Tampa market.
Burger 21’s national franchise program launched Sept. 7, 2011, and has aggressive growth plans to expand throughout most of the U.S. targeting locations situated in lunch/dinner fast casual restaurant hubs. While initial expansion efforts will focus on Florida markets, franchise opportunities will be considered in many markets nationwide.
