Smashburger Sizzles Into Chesterfield, Mo., with Second Restaurant on November 16

“Better Burger” Restaurant Heats Up Clarkson Rd. in West St. Louis County

Chesterfield, Mo. (PRWEB) November 03, 2011 - Smashburger, the nation’s fastest-growing “better burger” restaurant, will open its second metropolitan St. Louis-area location on Wednesday, Nov. 16 at 1670 Clarkson Road. Smashburger brings its signature smashed-to-order burgers, Häagen-Dazs® shakes, tempting sides and regional menu items crafted to please locals’ palates to Chesterfield. This is the second of 12 St. Louis Smashburgers slated to open over the next four years. The St. Louis area’s first Smashburger opened in July 2011 and is located at 1981 Zumbehl Road in St. Charles, Mo.

Each St. Louis Smashburger features a regional menu created with regional flavors and tastes in mind. The St. Louis menu includes:

  • The St. Louis Smashburger, with provel cheese, garlic grilled mushrooms, grilled onions and sweet bell peppers on a pretzel bun
  • The St. Louis Smashdog, a 100-percent Angus beef hot dog with provel cheese, yellow mustard, garlic grilled mushrooms, grilled onions and sweet bell peppers
  • The St. Louis Gooey Butter Cake Shake made with Häagen-Dazs® ice cream.

“In every Smashburger market, we explore what consumers enjoy eating and then bring those tastes and flavors to our burgers in an innovative way,” says Founder & Chief Concept Officer Tom Ryan. “Guests will be excited about the unique burger, chicken sandwiches and salads we’ve created and we look forward to bringing these specialty items to St. Louis.”

At Smashburger, the secret is in the smash. It starts with 100-percent fresh, never frozen, Certified Angus Beef that is smashed on a 400-degree flat grill to sear in the juicy flavor. To further the “better burger” experience, the juicy burger is served on a toasted artisan bun and topped with a selection of the freshest produce, real cheeses, and the highest-quality condiments.

Smashburger is known for its delicious burgers, but customers can also enjoy a selection of tender marinated grilled or crispy chicken sandwiches, grilled and split hot dogs, and fresh tossed signature salads, along with a variety of irresistible sides including rosemary and garlic–seasoned Smashfries, fried pickles, Haystack Onions, and Veggie Frites (flash-fried and seasoned asparagus spears, carrot sticks and green beans). The restaurant will also serve a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages including local beers, wine, and hand-spun Häagen-Dazs® shakes.

“St. Louis-area burger lovers can celebrate now having two locations where they can enjoy a juicy burger with all of the fixings for the right price in an environment that fits with their lifestyle,” says Smashburger CEO & Chairman Dave Prokupek. “Smashburger will be a great place in Chesterfield to take the whole family, a business colleague, or even have a date night.”

The St. Louis Smashburger locations are owned and operated by local franchisee STL Smash, LLC. Its president, David Schweitzer, is a veteran of the restaurant industry in the region. “From the first time I tasted a Smashburger, I just knew I had to share it,” says Schweitzer. “With this second location we are excited to bring the great taste and experience of Smashburger to more St. Louisans.”
