Taft Partner Julia Meister Elected a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel

Meister, a partner in the firm’s Cincinnati office, was recently elected a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (“ACTEC”). ACTEC is a national organization of approximately 2,600 lawyers, each of whom has been invited to join the organization by demonstrating the highest level of integrity, commitment to the profession, competence and experience as trust and estate counselors. Its members work to teach those who aspire to enter the field and to improve and reform laws, procedure and standards while working with their peers and other professional organizations.

Meister is a member of Taft's Litigation, Health and Life Sciences, and Private Client practice groups, and she heads the firm's Estates, Trusts and Fiduciary Litigation practice. She counsels clients and represents them in commercial and estate, guardianship, trust and fiduciary matters and professional ethics and discipline matters before courts, administrative tribunals, and arbitrators. Meister advises clients on a variety of health care issues, including privacy, statutory compliance, and decision making by health care surrogates. In addition, she represents health care clients in disciplinary proceedings and investigations before licensing boards and professional societies.

Meister is currently recognized in Best Lawyers in America in four practice areas: Commercial Litigation, Litigation – Banking & Finance, Litigation – Trusts & Estates, and Trusts and Estates, and she has a peer rating of "AV" in Martindale-Hubbell. She was named one of the Cincinnati Business Courier's Forty Under Forty emerging leaders and has been recognized in multiple years by Cincinnati Magazine as a Super Lawyers Rising Star and by the YWCA Academy of Career Women of Achievement as a Rising Star. She is past chair of the Cincinnati Bar Association’s Admissions Committee and is active in several legal and community organizations, currently serving as vice president and trustee of the Cincinnati Opera Association and president of the Cincinnati Area Senior Services Board of Directors.
