The Dunkin' Donuts & Baskin-Robbins Community Foundation Honors Veterans Day with $10,000 Donation to the USO

Ten USO centers across the country will each receive a $1,000 grant

CANTON, Mass., Nov. 10, 2011 // PRNewswire // -- The Dunkin' Donuts & Baskin-Robbins Community Foundation (DDBRCF) is honoring Veterans Day on November 11 by donating a total of $10,000 to the USO to benefit 10 individual centers throughout the country. Each center will receive a $1,000 grant.

The mission of The DDBRCF is to serve the basic needs of communities through food for the hungry, safety and children's health. The $10,000 donation will help support the USO's efforts to provide morale, welfare and recreation-type services to troops and their families. USO centers receiving the $1,000 donations include USO of Hampton Roads (VA); USO of Illinois; USO of Southern Pennsylvania and New Jersey; USO of Metro New York; Greater Jacksonville USO; USO Boston; USO Dallas/Fort Worth; USO of Central Ohio; USO of Greater Los Angeles; and Rocky Mountain USO (CO).

Dunkin' Donuts has donated more than 230,000 pounds of coffee to troops deployed overseas since May 2003. The company holds a monthly drawing to randomly select at least 50 United States military members to receive one case (24 pounds) of Dunkin' Donuts coffee. During the holiday season, Dunkin' Brands' corporate employees also send additional pounds of coffee to the troops.

The USO lifts the spirits of troops and their families at more than 160 locations worldwide. USO centers provide a warm and comforting place to connect with family via the Internet or telephone, play a video game, watch a movie, have a snack or just put their feet up and take a nap.
