Massage Envy Houston Area Raises $16,987.51 During Healing Hands For Arthritis

Local Community Showed Widespread Support of Event Benefiting the Arthritis Foundation

Houston,TX (PRWEB) November 15, 2011 - Massage Envy, the pioneer and national leader of professional, affordable and convenient massage and spa services, and the Houston community came together on World Arthritis Day, October 12th, to raise 16,987.51 during their Healing Hands for Arthritis event benefiting the Arthritis Foundation’s mission to prevent, control and cure arthritis. Massage Envy Houston Area and more than 700 other Massage Envy clinics around the country, donated $10 from every one-hour massage and facial to the Arthritis Foundation and collectively raised nearly $500,000 across the nation.

“We were overwhelmed by the community’s strong support for Healing Hands for Arthritis,” said Lance O’Pry, Houston Area Regional Developer. “The event was truly a team effort and we are very thankful for our wonderful members and guests, as well as our therapists, estheticians and clinic staff, who helped make it a huge success.”

During Healing Hands for Arthritis, Murad®, Massage Envy Spa’s exclusive skin care partner, also donated 10 percent of sales from their products sold at Massage Envy Spa locations to the Arthritis Foundation. In addition, Wyndmere, another Massage Envy retail partner, donated 10 percent of their retail sales on from the day.

Today, arthritis strikes 50 million adults and 300,000 children and is the leading cause of disability in the nation. Massage Envy partnered with the Arthritis Foundation to help conquer this painful and debilitating disease. In addition to hosting Healing Hands for Arthritis, Massage Envy is a national sponsor of the Arthritis Foundation’s 200 Arthritis Walk® events, where local Massage Envy owners from across the country have shared information about the benefits of massage therapy, provided chair massages and supported the Arthritis Foundation’s mission at their respective local walks.
