PODS Moving and Storage Brings Cheer to Children in Need This Holiday Season

PODS Enterprises, Inc. has teamed up with Toys for Tots to serve as collection points for toys through Dec. 15

(CLEARWATER, Fla.) – PODS Enterprises, Inc., its national franchise network and the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots are working together to collect and distribute more than 25,000 toys to children across the country this holiday season.

The 2011 Toys for Tots national campaign began Oct. 15 and runs through Dec. 15. Toys for Tots annually collects and distributes toys in the communities where a Marine Corps Reserve Unit is located to help less fortunate children experience the joy of Christmas. PODS® franchises and corporate-owned locations have donated PODS® storage containers in over 200 cities and towns across the U.S. to serve as mobile toy collection centers.

“We are grateful to be working with PODS again this holiday season,” said Bill Grein, Toys for Tots Foundation vice president of marketing and a retired Marine. “Their continued support through the use of on-site containers for our locations has provided more flexibility and security to our yearly collections.”

On Nov. 21, Denny’s restaurants also partnered with Toys for Tots in Los Angeles, San Diego, Phoenix, Dallas, St. Louis and Miami when they challenged diners to help fill a PODS® container with toy donations during one 24-hour period.

Since 1947, the Toys for Tots program through the U.S. Marine Corps has distributed more than 420 million toys to more than 196 million underprivileged children.
