Hires Franchise Industry Veterans to Lead Rapid Growth Plan

December 02, 2011 // Franchising.com // Wilmington, Del. - Home health innovator Guava Healthcare (www.guavahealthcare.com) announced the launch of its new franchise business, and the appointment of franchising industry veterans Ken Caldwell and Kevin Pike to the company’s leadership team. Following the development of a distinctive franchise network model and supporting technology platform, Guava Franchising (http://franchise.guavahealthcare.com/) has embarked on an aggressive push to attract qualified franchisees and expects to announce its first wave of deals soon.

Ken Caldwell was a partner with Paradise Foods, the franchising company for Heavenly Ham (HH), which he helped grow from 10 units to 220 before it was sold to HoneyBaked Ham (HBH). As vice president of Franchise and Retail Operations of HBH, he was responsible for growing that franchise from 35 to 180 locations. Serving Guava as a strategy consultant in recent months, Caldwell has been instrumental in leading the development of the Guava franchise model and growth plan. He joins the company as executive vice president and will oversee sales and marketing of the franchise business.

Kevin Pike formerly served as vice president of operations for U.S. Motor Works, overseeing operations for the company and helping it grow to more than 100 franchises. He then joined Party Land, Inc., the world’s largest party supply franchise serving as vice president of franchise services, and was part of the management team that grew that company to over 500 units in 24 countries worldwide. In that capacity he had oversight of every aspect of interaction with prospective franchisees, as well as development and growth of existing units worldwide. Most recently, he helped bring start-up fitness concept Row Zone to market. Pike joins Guava as vice president of Operations and Business Development. He will work with franchisees on all aspects of their business growth from site selection to local marketing and business development and coordinate operational support for the company.
