Michigan Home Care Company Partners with National Private Non-Profit Social Service Organization

In an effort to successfully expand its in-home care services program, Lutheran Social Services of Michigan purchases Home Care Assistance franchise.

Birmingham, MI (PRWEB) December 19, 2011 - Home Care Assistance of Michigan, the leading provider of in-home care senior services throughout the southeastern region of the state, announced today that they were acquired by Lutheran Social Services of Michigan (LSSM), a national, private non-profit organization that is dedicated to creating communities of service that meet the needs of community members, uphold human dignity and advocate equality and justice. This is the first time in Lutheran Social Services of Michigan’s history that the organization has purchased a private pay home care company. The decision stemmed from an increase in demand for in-home care services and the risk of budget cuts. The organization decided that the most cost-effective route was to buy a successful home care business that showed steady growth, first rate operations and an expansive presence throughout Michigan. The previous owner of Home Care Assistance of Michigan, Rob Louis-Ferdinand, who provided seven years of outstanding leadership and spearheaded the growth of the company, is staying on and will join the Lutheran Social Services staff as the executive director of in-home services.

"Due to our quality systems and operating processes, Lutheran Social Services had an overwhelming interest in helping us expand throughout Michigan,” said Louis-Ferdinand. “Dedicated to bettering the lives of others through compassion, respect and commitment, LSSM aligned perfectly with our company’s core beliefs and values, creating the perfect partnership.”

Home Care Assistance not only complements Lutheran Social Services’ existing In-Home Services program, but also strengthens it. Nationally recognized as a premier provider of live-in care for seniors, the company is unique in the home care industry because of its focus on 24/7 care and caregiver training in the Balanced Care Method™ to help improve quality of life. The Balanced Care Method™ is based on the scientifically studied lifestyle factors that contribute to a longer and healthier lifespan, promote total wellness and encourage maximum independence for seniors. Home Care Assistance understands the importance of diet, exercise, mental challenge and social ties in reducing stress and creating the best life, with a focus on healthy longevity. The caregivers the company hires are bonded, insured, covered by Worker’s Comp and screened for criminal backgrounds and driving histories to ensure that clients receive the best care from the most qualified caregivers.

Under the ownership of Lutheran Social Services, all of Home Care Assistance’s profits will go toward their various non-profit programs that support individuals who can’t afford home care, children and adolescents in foster care and persons recently released from correctional facilities, among many others. Lutheran Social Services currently has 70 programs in 44 cities throughout Michigan.

Home Care Assistance of Michigan has the highest client satisfaction rating in Michigan, according to Home Care Pulse, an independent research company. Their experienced employees and caregiving staff will now serve over 500 families, enabling them to age in the comfort of home; this number is expected to reach 1,000 by 2015.

Home Care Assistance currently operates in southeastern Michigan with offices in Birmingham, Troy, Grosse Pointe Woods and Ann Arbor. Under Lutheran In-Home Care, services will begin an immediate expansion to other areas of the state beginning with Grand Rapids.
