Volvo Rents ‘Digging’ Its Way Into Braintree

Worldwide provider of construction equipment opens local store;
Looks to capitalize on projected growth of construction spending.

January 11, 2012 // Franchising.com // SHIPPENSBURG, Penn. – Anchored by an increase in local construction spending that is projected to total more than $25 billion between 2012 and 2016 in the Boston market, Volvo Rents is looking to grab a bigger piece of the construction equipment rental pie that is currently up for grabs in Braintree, Mass.

A worldwide provider of small-to-medium sized construction equipment, Volvo Rents recently opened a new company-owned rental center at 002 Wood Road in Braintree.

“Our commitment to an outstanding level of customer service allows us to build relationships with our customers. We’re the kind of store where customers can drop by for a cup of coffee and hang out in our Contractor’s Corner,” said Joel Linsley, Branch Manager of the new Braintree Volvo Rents.

The new Volvo Rents rental center will join the Southborough and Haverhill locations in Massachusetts and will service all of the Boston market.

In addition to Volvo Rents’ expanding line of Volvo compact equipment – such as backhoe and skid steer loaders, compact wheel loaders, compact excavators and compaction equipment – the rental center carries a comprehensive line of essential equipment and tools for the construction, commercial, industrial and homeowner markets. The focus is on daily, weekly and monthly rentals.

“Buying construction equipment requires tremendous capital outlay,” added Linsley. “A company might buy a piece of equipment for $50,000, but only need it for three months out of the year. We bring the equipment to them, pick it up and perform the maintenance so there’s no downtime. It’s also tax-deductible.”
