LED Source Celebrates Dallas Grand Opening

LED Lighting Company Celebrates Its Debut in Dallas With Ribbon Cutting.

January 17, 2012 // Franchising.com // Dallas, Texas - With the disappearance of incandescent light bulbs on the horizon comes the rise of alternative lighting solutions such as light-emitting-diodes, or LEDs. Though LED lighting has steadily increased in demand, the average American consumer has no idea where to start when it comes to finding the right products and information, until now. In May 2011, LED Source, a franchised LED lighting concept that specializes in full-scale evaluations and retrofits in the commercial and residential sectors, debuted in Dallas. The company has been renovating a 4,500 square foot showroom in the Design District located at 154 Glass St., Suite 108, and will celebrate its completion and their official grand opening on Wednesday, Jan. 18. The Dallas Chamber of Commerce will welcome the new business with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 4 p.m. The open house will run from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.

“We’ve really hit the ground running since entering the Dallas market,” says Daniel Ocasio, vice president of franchise development for LED Source. “We’ve been working with several area businesses and plan on continuing to work with a good mix of large and small entities. We’ve positioned ourselves in the Design District for that reason. There is great design in Dallas and we are excited to be a part of this truly innovative and forward thinking community."

Although the LED lighting market is still in its infancy, market tracker Strategies Unlimited predicts global sales of general-purpose LEDs will triple to $14.9 billion in 2013 from $5.1 billion in 2008, a compound annual growth rate of 24 percent.

Additionally, according to the U.S. Dept, of Energy, rapid adoption of LED lighting in the United States over the next 20 years would reduce electricity demands from lighting by one-third, eliminate 258 million metric tons of carbon emissions, eliminate the construction of 40 power plants and create financial savings that could exceed $200 billion.

“LEDs save energy, cut electrical bills and maintenance costs, give off very little heat and contain no dangerous toxic chemicals – all of which are extremely important to each of the business sectors we’re targeting,” says Nick Dihigo, the retrofit sales associate for LED Source. “Companies all over the country are looking for ways to cut operational costs and updating your lighting is one solution.”

In addition to their ribbon-cutting ceremony, LED Source will host an open house for entertainment LED lighting on Jan. 19 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and for house of worship LED lighting on Jan. 20 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with special guest Camron Ware of Visual Worshiper.
