Haynes and Boone Ranks First for Women in National Diversity Survey

January 25, 2012 // Franchising.com // DALLAS – Haynes and Boone, LLP is ranked the top law firm in the country for women and third for Native-Americans in MultiCultural Law Magazine’s annual ranking of the top 100 law firms for diversity.

Overall, the firm ranked No. 48 out of the top 100.

In claiming the top spot for women, the firm jumped from No. 80 in the 2010 rankings.

“Our firm has always taken a great deal of pride in providing a supportive environment for women lawyers," said Terry Conner, managing partner. "It's a big reason for the success of Haynes and Boone over the years, so it is wonderful that a respected publication like Multicultural Law has honored our efforts with this No. 1 ranking.”

Added Felicity Fowler, chair of the Haynes and Boone Attorney Diversity Committee: “We have a strong history of recruiting, retaining and promoting diverse attorneys, including women attorneys. But these rankings provide us with a benchmark as to how we are doing compared to our peer firms throughout the country. When an outside organization recognizes our efforts, it helps motivate us to do even better.”

The firm also scored well in several other specialty areas, including No. 9 in the “Top 50 Law Firms for Partners” listing, and No. 8 in the “Top 25 Law Firms for Hispanics” listing.

Haynes and Boone is regularly recognized for its ongoing commitment to promoting diversity and opportunity within the firm. Vault.com recently cited the firm as a top 100 law firm for diversity with regard to women and minorities in its 2011 rankings.

The firm also has earned a 100 percent rating for its treatment of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) attorneys and staff in the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index for the last three years.
