Boulder County Couple Becomes Instant Imprints Area Franchisees; Key Colorado Players in Company’s Expansion Strategy

Deal Includes Opportunity to Grow Rapidly Expanding Brand to More than 50 Instant Imprint Centers in Colorado.

January 31, 2012 // Franchising.com // LOUISVILLE, Colo. – Mike and Linda Boyd know a thing or two about running a franchise.

The married couple has made a career out of owning and operating top performing franchise businesses -- first with McDonald’s, and for the last seven years with Instant Imprints, a one-stop retail center providing custom imprinted promotional merchandise from apparel and signs to every promotional product imaginable.

Now, the entrepreneurial duo will have an opportunity to teach others the art of effectively running a franchise as Instant Imprints Area Franchisees. The Boyds, who have owned the Instant Imprints center in Louisville, Colo. since 2004, have finalized an agreement with San Diego-based Instant Imprints to lead the brand’s growth in Colorado, meaning they can market the franchise opportunity to other motivated, small business-oriented people in Colorado.

The chance to teach others the proven business model and sales processes is what the Boyds welcome most about the investment they’ve made in becoming Area Franchisees.

“When you buy a franchise you want to feel good about the support and guidance you are going to receive. This point the Boyd’s will focus on most and it’s why we are so confident in their abilities,” said Ralph Askar, who heads the franchisor’s operations for Instant Imprints as the president and CEO of the company. “They are most passionate about teaching others how to get their business up and running.”

Aspiring franchise owners in the state should take note. The Boyds plan to grow Instant Imprints to more than 50 centers in Colorado, and they are confident they can help make that happen for Instant Imprints. The franchise is what Mike calls “operationally driven” – it complements the Boyds’ personalities and affords them an ideal work schedule. They enjoy the freedom to be “hands-on” with their business during the week while spending time with family and friends on the weekends.

“There are so many benefits to owning and operating an Instant Imprints center,” added Mike. “It’s a lifestyle business. You’re not going to be working late into the night or on weekends. You can operate the business with low overhead and still have time for yourself and family.”

Mike’s franchise industry experience also includes time as a franchisee with The Entrepreneur’s Source, a leading business coaching franchise dedicated to giving people the tools to successfully operate their own. A mentor to many, guiding hundreds of people down the path of franchise ownership, Mike excels in the teaching role and admits that there is nothing greater than finding opportunities to learn something new and then share it with others.

“Sure we’re entrepreneurs and we know a certain amount of risk comes with that, but we’re dedicated to following a business model that works. We’ve spent our lives learning, and now we’re excited to share that with others,” added Mike.

The Boyds are one of Instant Imprints’ higher performing franchisees. Their Louisville center recently won the Louisville Chamber of Commerce’s Small Business of the Year for its remarkable business results and the Boyds’ community outreach. Their Instant Imprints franchise increased their year-over-year sales 19 percent in 2011.
