January 26, 2012 - Appleton Learning, a private education organization and franchise that provides individualized tutoring, test preparation, academic testing and assessments for students of all ages, announces that Alissa Ramsay has been named director of franchise development for the company’s emerging franchise division. In this position, Ramsay will work closely with Tra Williams, vice president of development, to recruit potential franchise partners, provide support to Appleton franchisees through training and management and expand the concept’s franchise presence, with focus particularly in the Southeast.
”We are thrilled to announce Alissa as Appleton’s director of franchise development,” says Glenn Clayton, CEO of Appleton Learning. “With Alissa’s knowledge and expertise with operations and business development, I am tremendously optimistic about her new role with our company and the potential growth outlook for our franchise division.”
With experience in the business and operations arena, Ramsay has worked for Appleton Learning for the past year, most recently serving as a franchise branch advisor. In her role, Ramsay assisted in the implementation of Appleton Learning’s strategic growth plan by providing on-going business, marketing and operational support to franchise and company-owned branches. Prior to her time at Appleton, Ramsay served as the brand manager for Tara Graphics and was the owner of Average to Art.
Alissa joins Appleton’s franchise division, led by seasoned franchise veteran Tra Williams, vice president of development. Williams came on board with Appleton in January of 2011 to begin the franchise division and has been charged with the strategic growth and operational refinement of all company-owned and franchise branches for the education franchise. In keeping with the company’s focus on education, both Williams and Ramsay are pursuing Certified Franchise Executive status to better their knowledge of franchising and providing the best franchise experience for future franchisees. This year, Tra Williams was awarded the prestigious International Franchise Association’s Gray Plant Mooty CFE Scholarship to be applied toward the tuition for programs offered for ICFE credit.
“Since we began the franchise division a year ago, Tra’s experience and resources have allowed us to attract and support franchise partners that are passionate about education and providing the best coaching and support possible for the students we serve, continues Clayton. “With the addition of Alissa, we look forward to the expansion of Appleton’s franchise division and are confident that both Alissa and Tra will be successful in reaching our goals for 2012."
