Stalboerger Brings Insurance and Health Policy Experience to Faegre Baker Daniels

Minneapolis (03-February-2012) - Philip G. Stalboerger has joined the government advocacy group at Faegre Baker Daniels LLP after serving as vice president of policy and legislative and public affairs for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota. As a senior government relations advisor, he will serve clients from the firm's Minneapolis office.

Stalboerger has more than 15 years of experience working in government and corporate public affairs and has specific expertise in health care and insurance policy. At Faegre Baker Daniels, he will help corporations devise and implement public policy initiatives by forming strategic relationships with key legislators and government officials, establishing coalitions, and organizing grassroots programs.

Prior to serving as vice president at Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Stalboerger was the company's director of legislative affairs. In these capacities, he spearheaded all state and federal legislative activities and advocated for the company's policy needs before the Minnesota Legislature, Minnesota state agencies, local governments, Congress and federal agencies. Stalboerger led numerous successful policy initiatives related to tax policy, insurance laws and regulations, and a wide range of health care reform matters.

Stalboerger has also served within government as legislative director for the Minnesota Department of Commerce and as administrator of the Minnesota Senate Commerce Committee. He is a leader in numerous state business and health care organizations, including the Minnesota and Dakota County Regional Chambers of Commerce. In 2009, he was named to the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal's list of Forty Under 40.

Stalboerger earned his master's degree in public administration from Hamline University in 2007, and a bachelor's degree in government and political science from St. John's University in 1995.
