Director of Nursing Named To Home Care Association Board of Directors

Maura Barillaro, Director of Nursing for Home Care Assistance, is recognized for role as educator, mentor and medical professional.

Bethesda, MD (PRWEB) February 08, 2012 - Home Care Assistance, a leading provider of in-home care for seniors, is proud to announce that Maura Barillaro, RN, Director of Nursing for the Washington DC region has been named to the Maryland-National Capital Homecare Association Board of Directors.

Nurse Barillaro was recognized with a board membership thanks to her tireless advocacy for her Home Care Assistance clients, as well as her role as an educator, mentor and medical professional. With a background in gerontology, "Nurse Maura", as she is affectionately known, coordinates client care and planning, while also conducting in-depth training sessions for the Home Care Assistance caregiving staff. Now, she can add a new responsibility to her list as a sitting MNCHA board member.

"It's such a pleasure working with this group," said Barillaro. "I feel like my fellow board members are all very passionate about the issues that are important to the industry. I'm learning a lot and feel like I'm making a real difference."

As a board member, Barillaro is expected to attend quarterly board meetings where members have an opportunity to weigh in on issues that affect home health and private duty home care providers, as well as to influence the regulatory process by state governments in the Washington DC area and beyond.

From their Board of Directors to their annual conferences, the Maryland-National Capital Homecare Association helps to bring together the viewpoints of non-profit and for-profit home care agencies, medical equipment companies, and nurse registries. Together, they believe that home care is a truly viable option for most clients and their families. Home Care Assistance is a proud supporter of MNCHA's home care advocacy and looks forward to the positive contributions Nurse Barillaro will bring to the organization.
