Construction Resumes On Atlanta’s Inaugural Value Place

Largest Economy Extended-Stay Hotel Brand to Open in Alpharetta this Summer

February 10, 2012 // Franchising.com // Alpharetta, GA - Value Place announced today that construction has resumed on the property located at 860 McFarland Parkway (Highway 400 & McFarland Pkwy Exit) in Alpharetta. The 124-room hotel is expected to open July 1.

“Due the FDIC taking over the original local bank, construction was stalled. We have since obtained new financing from Equity Bank and construction resumed on Feb. 1,” said Value Place President and COO Kyle Rogg. Local construction firm Pat Cook Construction Inc. has been selected as the general contractor to complete the property. During this time Value Place has improved the interior finishes for greater guest satisfaction.

Value Place plans to open at least eight more locations and break ground on an additional 12 across the country before the end of 2012. Long term, Value Place eventually plans to have 25 properties operating in the greater Atlanta metropolitan area. In addition to developing new properties at a rapid pace, Value Place is also seeing record system average occupancy rates in excess of 80 percent, 24 percent higher than the industry average.

Value Place has arguably some of the most stringent cleanliness standards in the economy extended-stay lodging industry. Mandatory “deep clean” maintenance is done after every checkout. Comforters, blankets and shower curtains are all washed and the carpet shampooed every time. Cleanliness inspections are conducted prior to the next guest move in.

With its emphasis on rigorously clean and secure lodging at low weekly rates, Value Place provides each guest with just-right simplicity designed to leave more money in their pocket.

Each Value Place property offers three room plans: a studio, studio sleeper and studio double. Services included in the weekly rate include a full kitchen with towels and linens, expanded cable network including a premium movie channel and bi-weekly studio cleaning. Additional cleaning and linen service, Internet access, dishes and other kitchen supplies are available for a nominal fee. There is onsite laundry and vending.

Value Place currently has six properties in Georgia located in Augusta, Columbus, Macon and Savannah. In Alpharetta, Value Place will hire five people to manage the company-owned hotel’s daily operations.

“Value Place has been well received in other areas of the state,” said Rogg. “We are excited to introduce our brand to Atlanta residents and visitors later this year and offer an affordable lodging alternative to small business travelers as well as families and individuals who are relocating to a new community, building or renovating a home or experiencing a transition in their life.”
