SNR Denton to Open in New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS, February 9, 2012 - SNR Denton announced today it will open on March 1, 2012 in New Orleans, which will join more than 60 locations worldwide. The firm’s space will be located in Poydras Center, 650 Poydras Street, Suite 2850 in the city’s Central Business District. The firm also announced the addition of lawyers in New Orleans who will work in tandem with a team led by Clinton A. Vince, co-head of SNR Denton’s Energy, Transport and Infrastructure team.

"This expansion is reflective of our commitment to the people and the city of New Orleans," said Mike McNamara, SNR Denton’s US Managing Partner. "We are proud of our work for the City Council of New Orleans, and now are exceptionally pleased to have SNR Denton in one of America’s most important cities. We look forward to strengthening our relationships in New Orleans and being one of the select international law firms facilitating enhanced work on a daily and local basis."

Vince has been the Council’s chief legal adviser on regulating Entergy New Orleans for more than a quarter-century. His "28-year winning streak" for the Council as federal trial counsel and regulatory advisor has helped save New Orleans customers billions of dollars during that time period.

"It is my hope that SNR Denton will provide a new and robust source of commerce for the city," said Vince. "Our commitment in New Orleans will be a catalyst for additional enterprise with SNR Denton’s other locations throughout the world for the benefit of this great American city. New Orleans is a natural fit with our growing US and international energy practice."

At the time of the opening, SNR Denton lawyers will reside in New Orleans on a full-time basis. J.A. "Jay" Beatmann, Jr., Senior Counsel, has over 12 years of experience representing private and public clients in utility matters before the New Orleans City Council and the Louisiana Public Service Commission. Beatmann earned his JD from Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge. Royce Duplessis, Associate, a New Orleans native, earned his JD from Howard University School of Law and served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. SNR Denton has also retained Basile Uddo to assist in Council utility matters. Uddo has over 35 years of experience representing public and private clients in New Orleans and is qualified as an expert in ethics. He has served as an advisor to the Council’s Cable, Telecommunications and Technology Committee since 2000 and represented the Council in post-Katrina Entergy New Orleans bankruptcy coordinating Council regulatory function with Bankruptcy Court. Uddo earned his JD from Tulane University, School of Law, and a LLM from Harvard Law School.
