Gray Plant Mooty’s Elizabeth Street Dillon Earns Certified Franchise Executive Designation

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (February 15, 2012) — The Minneapolis-based law firm of Gray Plant Mooty is pleased to announce that franchise attorney Elizabeth Street Dillon has earned the Certified Franchise Executive (CFE) designation awarded by the Institute of Certified Franchise Executives—the academic branch of the International Franchise Association (IFA)’s Educational Foundation.

Dillon, who was recognized in a ceremony at the IFA’s 2012 annual convention in Orlando, increases Gray Plant Mooty’s roster of CFEs to four; franchise attorney John Fitzgerald earned his CFE designation in 2009, and franchise attorneys Kirk Reilly and Max Schott earned their designations last year.

Candidates are required to complete a rigorous course of study to earn the CFE designation, which includes attending institute-sponsored educational seminars and workshops. The program enhances franchising professionals’ understanding of both the industry’s fundamental and complex aspects.

Dillon practices in the area of domestic and international franchise and distribution. She counsels both experienced and maturing franchisors in the development, expansion, and maintenance of their franchise systems. Specifically, Dillon assists franchisors in the preparation and registration of disclosure documents. In addition, she regularly drafts and reviews a variety of documents, including franchise agreements, development agreements, and supply agreements. Dillon earned her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin in 2004.
