United Country Conducts 2012 Arkansas State Ducks Unlimited Banquet

Rogers, Ark., Event Raises Roughly $20,000 for State Chapter Share

February 17, 2012 // Franchising.com // KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Several United Country Real Estate offices from Arkansas, Missouri, Louisiana and Oklahoma participated in the 2012 Arkansas State Ducks Unlimited Banquet Saturday, Feb. 11 in Rogers, Ark. The event raised nearly $20,000 to support conservation activities of the state chapter of Ducks Unlimited.

A live auction event was sponsored by United Country, Angie and Allen Gallaher of United Country – Scenic Rivers Realty out of Imboden, Ark., and Travis Birdsong of United Country – Birdsong Auction & Real Estate Group, LLC, out of Poplar Bluff, Mo. Up for bid during the event were 36 lots that included hunting and fishing trips, art work, shotguns, a Mossberg rifle donated by United Country and much more.

Birdsong was the primary auctioneer for the event, and Mike Jones, president of United Country Auction Services, was also on-hand to call out bids and act as Birdsong’s wingman, along with Keith Lowery from United Country – Lowery & Associates of Monroe, La., and John Wilhite from United Country – Prairie Creek Realty & Auction of Tahlequah/Park Hill, Okla.

“It was indeed a pleasure to attend and participate in the 2012 Arkansas State Ducks Unlimited Banquet held in Rogers this past weekend,” said Jones. “I appreciate the commitment from our United Country offices that donated their time and money to support one of our most important strategic partnerships.  A big shout out to Angie, Allen, and Travis – these folks went above and beyond the call of duty in sponsoring and organizing our team’s efforts.”

Eleven United Country affiliates total participated or supported the event including those from the Arkansas towns of Camden, Melbourne, Yellville, Bryant, Greers Ferry and Arkadelphia, as well as Coushatta, La. “I’m so proud of how many United Country family members attended this event,” said Angie Gallaher, broker and owner of United Country Scenic Rivers Realty. “The partnership of United Country and Ducks Unlimited could not be a better fit. We hope to help support more events like this nationwide.”

In 2007, Ducks Unlimited and United Country announced their national partnership focused on educating real estate professionals, auctioneers and land buyers and sellers about land conservation, habitat protection through conservation easements, opportunities to volunteer and charitable giving. Through this partnership, United Country Auction Services and its affiliated auctioneers and real estate professionals across the nation have helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars to benefit DU’s mission.

“The conservation efforts of DU fall directly in line with United Country’s belief that we must protect our land and nature, our most valuable resources,” said Jones. “We look forward to conducting the 75th Anniversary 2012 DU National Convention auction in Nashville on June 2nd and working with this great group of conservationist for many years to come.”
