Quaker Steak & Lube® Creates Sauce Boss Challenge

February 29, 2012 // Franchising.com // Quaker Steak & Lube®, known for its Best Wings USA and over 20 sauce varieties, is asking Facebook fans to mix up their own wing sauce recipes through its “Sauce Boss Challenge”. Many Lube Loyalists, or “Lubies,” have strong feelings of adornment and ownership for their most preferred sauce and now they can show the world why their favorite Sauce is Boss.

The Sauce Boss Challenge will run on The Official Quaker Steak & Lube® Facebook fan page from February, 14 to May 3, 2012. Fans of the Lube® can submit their own tasty and creative sauce mix recipe, using The Lube®’s sauce flavors, and share it on The Official Quaker Steak & Lube® Facebook fan page. Fans can also upload a photo with their sauce mixture and name it as creativity is very important.

Everyone who submits a Quaker Steak & Lube® Sauce Boss creation will receive a coupon for a Free Sprintster of Wings with an in-restaurant purchase at The Lube®. Each week, for ten weeks, a finalist will be chosen. The ten weekly finalists will receive an iPod shuffle and a 4-Pack of sauce that will include one bottle of their own custom sauce creation. Once the ten finalists are chosen, fans will be able to vote for the grand prize winning sauce. The grand prize winner will earn the title of “The Official Quaker Steak & Lube® Sauce Boss” and will have the opportunity to use the “Mix and Match Sauce Boss Randomizer” on the Sauce Boss Facebook tab for their grand prize. The winner will also receive Free Wings for a year and a year’s worth supply of their original Lube sauce creation, custom bottled and labeled by The Lube®. The boldest and best tasting sauce could even make its way into the restaurant as a limited time offer!

Most recently Quaker Steak & Lube®’s own sauce creations placed at the 2012 Fiery Food Challenge. Thaisian, a unique blend of the Lube®’s own Asian Sesame and Thai R Cracker, won 3rd place in the Asian/Stir-Fry Category and Haute Parmesan, a mixture of Parmesan Pepper and Hot, won 2nd place in the Medium Hot Sauce Category.

Since the start of the promotion over 575 fans have mixed up their own unique sauces and 220 have uploaded photos. To enter fans can go to The Official Quaker Steak & Lube® fan page, and fill out the entry form with their very own sauce creation. There fans can also find a full list of contest rules and prizes.
