JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Feb. 21, 2012) – The custom sushi shop, How Do You Roll?, will bring the sushi rebellion to Jacksonville when it opens in mid-March. The restaurant, located at 9734 Deer Lake Court, gives sushi fans a chance to completely create their own rolls.
“When I first heard about How Do You Roll?, I was excited,” said David Tennyson, who has 22 years of franchising experience and owns the Jacksonville location. “The newness, the freshness of the concept— I couldn’t wrap my mind around it.”
How Do You Roll? offers a modern twist to the traditional Japanese cuisine. Upon entering the restaurant, consumers follow a line and build their own sushi rolls picking from a wide variety of ingredients. Newcomers to sushi, and those who shy away from raw fish, will be surprised to find grilled chicken and beef, whereas sushi aficionados can enjoy more typical-to-sushi options like spicy tuna and unagi. How Do You Roll? also offers gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan ingredients.
“With our model, everyone can get exactly what they want, at a reasonable price and in a short amount of time,” said Yuen Yung, chief executive office. “How Do You Roll? makes sushi more accessible and offers the consumer a unique experience in the process.”
The Jacksonville restaurant is a part of the rapid nation-wide expansion that How Do You Roll? has begun. The restaurant chain recently opened franchises in Phoenix and Tucson, Arizona and will be opening in Southern California in early March. Additionally, another franchise group plans to open a How Do You Roll? in Gainesville late Spring 2012.
Founded in Austin, Texas, by brothers Yuen and Peter Yung, How Do You Roll? is an Asian fast-casual franchise that began in 2008. There are currently seven locations open in Texas and two in Arizona. How Do You Roll? prides itself on furthering cultural fusion, encouraging consumer creativity and offering a variety of healthy foods.
