BAB, Inc. Expands Its East Coast Presence

DEERFIELD, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--BAB, Inc. (OTCBB: BABB) announced that its 2012 new store development will include a Big Apple Bagels® franchise in Wayne, New Jersey and a My Favorite Muffin Your All Day Bakery Café® in Annapolis, Maryland. This will be BAB’s debut in the state of Maryland.

The upcoming Wayne store, due to open in the Spring, is a new unit type for BAB. The Big Apple Bagels restaurant is located on the premises of the Electronics Expo store at 491 U.S. Highway 46 West. Electronics Expo is a New Jersey based retailer of high-end electronics and currently has 7 locations throughout New Jersey. At this, the prototype unit, customers will be able to access the Big Apple Bagels from within the electronics store and as well, through an exterior entrance directly into the restaurant. The management team at Expo is planning to take advantage of the dual use of their building with some creative cross-promoting.

The Annapolis My Favorite Muffin is another instance of a distinctive franchisee joining the BAB system. In this case, the new franchisee, “M4 Muffins, Inc.” is headed up by retired U.S. Navy Commander Mark P. Maglin and wife Melissa Maglin. Their intended site for which lease negotiations are now underway is in the Main Street Annapolis shopping district with its beautiful view of the harbor.
