Interim HealthCare Shines Spotlight on Heart Health in 2012 Mini-Documentary Video Series

Franchise Healthcare Company Highlights Janet Parrott and Importance of Maintaining Her Independence

SUNRISE, Fla., March 9, 2012 // PRNewswire // -- Interim HealthCare, the nation's first and finest healthcare franchise company, today launched the first of its 2012 mini-documentary video series, "Stories from Home". The mini-documentary highlights the benefits of receiving home care assistance after Interim HealthCare of Orlando, Florida client, Julia Parrott, suffered two heart attacks. The video is now available for viewing on Interim HealthCare's YouTube channel www.youtube.com/interimhealthcare.

The mini-documentary focuses on the true story of Janet, an Orlando Florida resident who found herself unable to do daily tasks after her heart attacks. For Janet, Interim CNA Brianne Lafond plays a key role in helping her maintain her independence and quality of life. During the documentary, Brianne shares how she has made a difference in the life of her client, from helping with household tasks to driving her to the grocery store and taking the extra time to provide companionship since Janet's family lives afar.

"When someone is struck with an ailment performing daily activities can be challenging," said Greg Schultz, Interim HealthCare of Orlando Franchisee. "At Interim HealthCare we were able to help Janet, not only with assistance in daily living, but we were able to provide her companionship to improve her quality of life."

Interim HealthCare also offers a Living with Health Failure Program, which moves patients and their family caregivers along a pathway that helps stabilize their condition and prepares them for self-care and self-monitoring after an emergency room or hospital stay. Home nursing, therapy services and education are provided by skilled home health care clinicians.

"This documentary captures the emotional challenges and triumphs of Janet and truly shows that Interim HealthCare is there for families when it matters most," said Kathleen Gilmartin, President and CEO of Interim HealthCare Inc. "Many heart surgery patients return home not being able to do every day tasks they once did. That's where our attentive home care professionals step in and help patients maintain the same quality of life they are use to, in a more relaxed and personal environment."

Additional Interim HealthCare mini-documentaries, "Stories from Home", will debut throughout the year to focus on true stories of individuals who have been helped with home care and hospice services.
