New Restaurant to Provide Residents Prepared-at-Order Chicken in a Casual Dining Atmosphere

March 20, 2012 // Franchising.com // VALDOSTA, Ga. - The doors opened to Valdosta’s second Zaxby’s restaurant this past Monday. The new restaurant, located at 1102 North St. Augustine Road, in front of the Valdosta Mall, will showcase a brand-new, comprehensive restaurant design. The new location will feature innovative operational efficiencies, a heightened guest experience through aesthetics and functionality, and a curb appeal that exudes the Southern charm of the Zaxby’s brand. A Southeast favorite for chicken fingers and Buffalo wings, Zaxby’s will operate Monday through Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The bold, new restaurant design will enhance Zaxby’s operational efficiency by showcasing a new, open kitchen design, allowing multiple equipment options and additional storage capacity. The 90-seat restaurant will feature an open, inviting atmosphere with spacious seating and bright graphics. The unique interior includes a redesigned drink station to provide improved customer access and convenience, and a high-performance heating and air-conditioning system that reduces humidity and provides a comfortable seating area and kitchen.

Reminiscent of the architecture found in farmhouses across the South, the 3,785-square-foot building exterior will feature corrugated tin awnings, brick trimming below the windows, fluted gooseneck light fixtures and, most recognizably, a metal silo that highlights Zaxby’s drive-thru services for customers on the go.

Wes Kennedy will serve as the area development manager for the new location. He believes the restaurant — from the atmosphere to the service — will exceed community expectations. “We’ve assembled a great group of team members who will deliver on the Zaxby’s mission to ‘consistently create encore experiences that enrich lives one person at a time,’” said Kennedy.

The Valdosta restaurant will be the second in the company to display this design, alongside the new Lake Park, Ga., location that recently opened. The new Valdosta Zaxby’s will be the second for the city and the 200th for the Peach State. Zaxby’s currently operates more than 540 locations in 12 states — Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Indiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.

An alternative to fast food, Zaxby’s offers prepared-at-order chicken fingers, wings, sandwiches and salads. Zaxby’s most popular items are its hand-breaded Chicken Fingerz and Jumbo Buffalo Wings, smothered in a choice of nine sauces with names like Wimpy, Tongue Torch, Nuclear and Insane. The menu also offers innovative Zappetizers like Tater Chips, Spicy Fried Mushrooms and Fried White Cheddar Bites, as well as a variety of Party Platterz perfect for any family gathering or special occasion.

Zaxby’s also offers three salads, or Zalads: The House, The Blue and The Caesar. All of Zaxby’s Zalads offer more chicken, unique ingredients, such as French-fried onions, fresh veggies and juicy tomatoes, and are larger than most salads offered elsewhere. Each is prepared with chicken, three kinds of lettuce and a variety of toppings. Zalads are assembled at the time the order is placed, versus being pre-made and stored in a cooler.

Additionally, Zaxby’s offers Milkshakes at participating locations, which come in chocolate, strawberry and vanilla flavors. They are rich and creamy, hand-blended, and are topped with whipped cream.
