Planet Fitness to Raise Big Money for Breast Cancer Research

For 3rd straight year, sale looks to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for charity

NEWINGTON, N.H., March 22, 2012 // PRNewswire // -- For the third straight year, Planet Fitness will hold a special springtime promotion to raise money for The Breast Cancer Research Foundation®.

For every new member who signs up at a participating Planet Fitness gym from Monday, March 26th through Wednesday, April 4th, a $10 donation will be made to the Foundation.

More than 320 Planet Fitness gyms across the country will participate in the nine-day sale. Memberships will cost just $10 down, and then $10 a month.

In the past two years, Planet Fitness gyms nationwide have donated $592,522 to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation through the springtime promotion.

"We're very excited to be able to help such a terrific charity whose sole focus is finding a cure for this awful disease," said Eric Vaden, the vice president of marketing at Planet Fitness. "Our network of franchisees has really embraced this cause. We know that this is a long battle and a lot of research has to be done, but every little bit counts."
