Value Place Donates Mattresses to His Helping Hands
Hotel Brand Provides a Better Night's Rest Through Local Ministry Organization
March 29, 2012 // Franchising.com // Value Place, the largest economy extended stay lodging franchise in the U.S. based in Wichita, Kan., is proud to announce a unique partnership with His Helping Hands, an outreach ministry program of Central Christian Church. Value Place has facilitated a mattress donation program between the Wichita area Value Place properties and His Helping Hands, benefitting its network of Wichita families in need.
On Thursday, March 29 volunteer teams from the Value Place Home Office and the Value Place Wichita North hotel (K96 & Oliver) will haul all gently used mattresses out of the hotel, and load on to the His Helping Hands truck from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Helping Hands truck will depart the hotel at 4 p.m. ready to provide around 100 mattresses to their new owners who are families in the His Helping Hands network. Other pieces of furniture that the hotel is replacing, such as dressers and chairs, will also be contributed to this gift.
Value Place President and Chief Operating Officer Kyle Rogg has had experiences with such donations before and shares, “Value Place is investing in our properties and our ‘hometown’ by donating these mattresses. Having personally delivered mattresses to kids who didn’t own a bed, I know these mattresses from our property will be put to good use. His Helping Hands does great work in Wichita, providing both physical and spiritual help to those in need.”
The donation of mattresses in particular fits the Value Place principle of providing comfort to its valued guests. David Redfern, President of Value Place Property Management, is honored that Value Place can help those in the Wichita area sleep better at night, just as the Value Place Brand promises. “We’re in the business of taking care of our guests through safe, comfortable stays. This opportunity to help those in our Wichita community get a better night’s sleep through donating our mattresses extends our Value Place promise of simplicity. With nothing asked in return, we will simply provide a better night’s sleep to families in need, and that’s something we’re proud to be a part of.”
His Helping Hands Executive Director Paul Dohm expresses his gratitude of the donation and for the relationship that has grown between his organization and Value Place. “Beds and dressers are two of the items that we always need for distribution to our families. This donation of beds from Value Place will be a huge blessing to many under-resourced families in the Wichita area as His Helping Hands strives to assist those deserving aid the most in our community. We collaborate with other ministries, agencies, schools and employers to identify those families that desperately need beds. The generosity and consideration of Value Place to help meet those needs is exemplary stewardship,” shares Dohm.
