April 12, 2012 // Franchising.com // Missoula, MT - HuHot Mongolian Grill, one of the country’s leading Mongolian Grill concepts, plans to open its doors in La Crosse, Wisconsin and Greenville, North Carolina. The La Crosse location will be the sixth HuHot location to open in Wisconsin and will slated to open on May 17. The Greenville location will be the first HuHot to venture into North Carolina and plans to open on April 26.
Matt Cory of TRICOR is opening the La Crosse location and he is hoping to build on the overwhelming success of his Rochester, Minnesota location. “The people of Wisconsin love HuHot, and they’re excited to see it come to La Crosse, especially families and college students” said Cory. He looks forward to seeing people embrace this new location in a state where people already know and love HuHot.
The entry into North Carolina via the Greenville location was the idea of Mike Treadwell of Treadwell Enterprises. “North Carolina is an ideal area for expansion; people on the East Coast have been crying out for a HuHot for awhile now, and they are ecstatic to finally see it become a reality,” Treadwell said. This will be the second HuHot for Treadwell who already owns the popular location in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He expects to see similar results in the Greenville restaurant.
This is just the beginning for HuHot in 2012. The company plans to open at least six more restaurants before year’s end. Co-founder and CEO, Andy Vap, has watched his dream start from one restaurant and is now excited to see HuHot exploding as it closes in on the 50-restaurant milestone this year. “It’s amazing to see our continued growth. I knew a restaurant concept with a multitude of ingredients and flavorful sauces that consumers choose themselves would be a hit. Then you add in the interactive experience at the grill and it creates something that could appeal to people across the nation, so I am ecstatic people love HuHot as much as I do,” Vap said.
