Great Food and Family are at the Heart of Woody’s Bar-B-Q® of Orange City

Family-Owned-and-Operated Eatery in Florida's Volusia County Appeals to Local Families and Southern Barbecue Lovers Alike.

Orange City, FL, April 14, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The secret to the success of Woody’s Bar-B-Q® of Orange City, Florida is the likely fact that owners Bill and Cheryl Eagle manage their restaurant as an extension of their family. Middle son Vince runs the front of the house as the Southern barbecue eatery’s General Manager, while youngest son Matt oversees the back of the house as Kitchen Manager. The Eagle’s handy oldest son Bill, Jr. is always ready to help out with repairs around the restaurant when needed.

“Family is very important to us and it shows in the fact that we have sisters working for us, mother and daughter and good friends all working together,” says Cheryl. “We treat the entire staff as if they were family, which indeed they are.”

The Eagles don’t reserve that sentiment solely for family and staff members, but instead extend it to their customers and the entire Volusia County community. With support of local schools and churches as a top priority, Woody’s Bar-B-Q of Orange City hosts sponsorship nights on Tuesday evenings – giving 10% of the night’s receipts to the schools written on the back of their customer’s sales slips, and to the churches represented on the Sunday bulletins their customers bring to the restaurant. The Eagles recently established a similar sponsorship with the Deltona Veteran's Memorial Museum. In addition to specials like “Kids Eat Free Mondays,” the Eagles plan to initiate Early Bird Specials on weekdays from 3 to 5 p.m. as a show of support for senior citizens and young families in the area.

“We love children and (mascot) Percy the Pig is available for pictures which we put on our wall,” says Cheryl. “I am happy to email copies to the parents, if they wish. We also host a lot of birthday parties, and will decorate the chairs with balloons.”

Needless to say, what has really struck a chord with Orange City diners is the flavor of Woody’s Southern barbecued meats and tasty sides that originally put the Woody’s franchise on the Florida map. From their signature baby back ribs and wood smoked meats like Texas beef brisket, Carolina pulled pork, and Bar-B-Q chicken, to freshly prepared creamy coleslaw and Brunswick stew – no one walks away from a table at Woody’s of Orange City hungry.

“Everyone seems to appreciate the fact that our food is consistently great,” says Cheryl. “Plus, our servers are very friendly and our restaurant is very clean. One of our strengths is customer care. We try to make sure our diners are satisfied and that they had a good experience. We will even go the extra mile to give our customers tastes to see if they like something.”

Family isn’t just at the heart of this particular Woody’s franchise because the Eagle family is at the helm. As a family-focused community, Orange City proves the ideal fit for this restaurant concept built largely around family recipes derived from the kitchens of company founders, Woody Mills and Yolanda Mills-Mawman. The Banana Pudding served at every Woody’s location throughout the United States is not only a must-try, it’s an original recipe belonging to Mill’s mom. Woody’s Corporate Offices thoroughly screens and hand-picks all of its franchisees. Woody Mills and his executive team saw something special in the Eagle family, their extensive combined customer service and foodservice experience, and their unique approach to their customer base.

Opened in January 2011, Woody’s of Orange City is located at 2621 Enterprise Road. Restaurant hours are Saturday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Friday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. To place a to-go order from the a la carte menu or schedule a birthday party, interested parties are encouraged to call Woody’s of Orange City at 386-774-4227.

About Woody’s Bar-B-Q

After opening their first Woody’s Bar-B-Q in 1980, partners Woody Mills and Yolanda Mills-Mawman have spent the past three decades setting the “bar” higher for great Southern Bar-B-Q. From the humble beginnings of just one location in Jacksonville, Florida, a shared passion for Bar-B-Q, and a dog-eared collection of recipes, Mills and Mawman have grown the Woody’s Bar-B-Q brand to more than two dozen locations reaching from the Deep South where Bar-B-Q is king to the Northeast and Western fronts. Perhaps best known for their signature melt-in-your-mouth slow-smoked Bar-B-Q Baby Back Ribs, Woody’s has also built quite a following among patrons with their secret recipe Bar-B-Q sauces and meats, as well as their freshly prepared side dishes.
