Simply Southern Restaurant Group Announces Three New Chicken Salad Chick Franchisees and a New Company-Owned Location

April 17, 2012 // Franchising.com // Auburn, Alabama -- Simply Southern Restaurant Group, the exclusive franchisor of Chicken Salad Chick, announced today the sale of several franchises in Alabama, Georgia and Florida, and the upcoming opening of a new company store in Montgomery, Al.

“We have been enormously blessed with franchisees who share our passion for the Chicken Salad Chick concept and want to grow it in their communities,” said Kelley Mossburg, president and CEO of Simply Southern. “By year’s end, we will have restaurants not only in Auburn and Opelika, but Montgomery, Tuscaloosa, Columbus and Tallahassee.”

The Columbus location, opening this summer at The Landings at Airport Thruway, is owned by franchisees Brady and Tiffany Thomason Dubberly. “This is a wonderful opportunity to get in on the ground floor and be part of what will undoubtedly be tremendous growth of the Chicken Salad Chick concept,” said Ms. Dubberly.

The Tuscaloosa franchisee, The Wishbone Group, will open its first location in late summer of this year at Essex Market Square, 80 McFarland Blvd, Unit 12, Northport, with additional locations planned in both Tuscaloosa and Dothan in 2013 and 2014. “I love the product and the concept,” said Ms. Rebecca Roland, Wishbone’s president and CEO. “I look forward to sharing it with those I love.”

Florida franchisee, St. George Hospitality Company, also plans to open its first location early fall in Tallahassee.

“Kevin and I are so grateful for the interest people have expressed in Chicken Salad Chick. The fact that our own customers want to own their own Chicken Salad Chick is affirmation for us that we are touching lives. And that is our goal every day,” said Chicken Salad Chick Founder Stacy Brown.

The first company-owned restaurant will open this summer at Zelda Place in downtown Montgomery. “This location is perfect for us to showcase our brand to both our loyal customers who have been waiting for us to come to town and those who have yet to enjoy the Chicken Salad Chick experience,” said Mossburg. “This location, along with our other stores opening in the next few months in Tuscaloosa, Columbus, and Tallahassee, represent a very exciting time in the young life of our company.”
