An Event Worth Crossing The Road For

Spring Chicken Affair

April 25, 2012 // Franchising.com // San Angelo, Texas  - Two weekends ago marked the 30th annual Spring Chicken Affair which helps sponsor patient care at West Texas Rehabilitation Center. Annually, close to $50,000 is raised at this event and $715,000 has been raised since the fundraisers inception. Each attendee enjoyed live entertainment and received a "Sunday-after-church" dinner, which was sponsored in part by Chester's International, LLC. Underwriting and charitable donations make up 100% of the proceeds that are given to West Texas Rehabilitation Center.

"The Spring Chicken Affair is a great opportunity to give back to the community and enrich the lives of many of those who support us," said Ted Giles, CEO at Chester's. "We are grateful to take part in an event that lines up with our company's core values" he continued, this organization's actions definitely speak louder than any words."

For almost 60 years, West Texas Rehabilitation Center has provided care to children and adults who are challenged by disabilities and/or disorders. West Texas Rehabilitation Center is nationally and state certified as a program of excellence.

Over 4,000 people enjoyed the southern chicken dinner on Sunday. Many of the volunteer cooks and servers with given Chester's aprons, hats, shirts, and buttons to wear at the event. Even Chester made his appearance.
