What:

Jamba Juice Company Chairman & CEO, James D. White and National Gardening Association (NGA) President & CEO, Mike Metallo will formally announce the 20 successful applicants of Jamba's "It's All About Fruits and Veggies" gardening grant program. More than 800 groups submitted applications from across the nation. Three of the grantees are based in Washington, D.C. and will be in attendance. This is the third year of the community gardening grant program. To date, Jamba(R) has given away more than $30,000 to school and community gardening programs whose focus is on teaching young people about the benefits of fresh fruits & vegetables. The grant program is part of Jamba's corporate social responsibility platform and is designed to combat childhood obesity and promote healthy diets and wellness, in both youth and adults.

In addition to the announcement guests will also be invited to join DCPS students, executives, and political leaders, planting fruits and veggies in City Blossoms' Girard Children's Community Garden.
