Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group Appoints Harry Gorstayn General Manager Of Radisson Blu Mall Of America

April 26, 2012 // Franchising.com // Minneapolis - Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, one of the world’s largest and most dynamic hotel groups, today announced the appointment of Harry Gorstayn as general manager of the Radisson Blu Mall of America. Gorstayn assumes his new role April 23. The upper upscale Radisson Blu Mall of America is scheduled to open spring 2013 and is the second Radisson Blu in North America. The addition of a second Radisson Blu hotel in North America represents continued momentum in the Ambition 2015 growth strategy and is aligned with plans to expand Radisson as a vibrant, contemporary and globally consistent brand in key cities, resorts and airports.

“Harry has a strong hotel management background with 30 years of solid industry experience and has been actively involved in the communities he has served,” says Javier Rosenberg, chief operating officer, Radisson, Americas, and executive vice president of owned and managed hotels, Americas.. “He is a fantastic addition to our management team and we look forward to his leadership at our next Radisson Blu hotel in North America to deliver our trademark ‘Yes I Can!’ service in a vibrant and exciting new hotel.”

Gorstayn’s 24-year career with Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts included positions as general manager in Philadelphia and Palm Beach, Florida; hotel manager at the Four Seasons Beverly Wilshire in California; executive assistant manager at the Four Seasons in Seattle; and director of Food and Beverage at the Four Seasons Chicago. Before joining Four Seasons in 1988, he was director of Food and Beverage at Le Parker Meridien in New York City..

Actively involved in his local community, Gorstayn has served on the executive committee of the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Gorstayn holds a bachelor’s degree in hotel and restaurant management, studied at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Rutherford, New Jersey, and Centre International de Glion in Switzerland.
