Carlson Continues Expansion of Country Inns & Suites By CarlsonSM with the Opening of 20th Location in Ohio

Port Clinton, Ohio - May 7, 2012 - Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, one of the world’s largest and most dynamic hotel groups, today announced the further expansion of Country Inns & Suites By CarlsonSM in the Midwest. The opening of Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, Port Clinton, Ohio, marks the brand’s growth in the region as part of its Ambition 2015 strategy.

“The brand has established a strong footprint in Ohio with 20 Country Inns & Suites locations,” said Scott Meyer, vice president, Midscale Brands, Americas. “This homegrown brand will expand by an additional 150 hotels globally by 2015 primarily in the U.S., Canada, India and Mexico.”

Country Inns & Suites offers caring, consistent, comfortable hospitality with a touch of home, and features particularly attractive for business travelers. In late 2011, the brand completed rollout of classic diningware and silverware in all of its hotels in the U.S. to accompany its complimentary Be Our Guest hot breakfast. The introduction of classic diningware represents an industry first among major brands within the midscale hotel segment. The brand also offers free high-speed Internet access and weekday newspaper. The distinctive product and service innovations, such as the Be Our Guest employee training program have generated tremendous employee engagement scores and high guest satisfaction.

The 64-room hotel amenities include a business center, an indoor heated pool and fitness center. All guestrooms feature flat screen televisions, refrigerator and microwave. Studio Suites include pullout sofa beds and Whirlpool Suites feature an in-room whirlpool.
