Liberty Tax Service’s Hispanic Initiative Soars to New Heights

Virginia Beach, VA (PRWEB) May 29, 2012 - Liberty Tax Service’s Hispanic Initiative Soars to New Heights by Bringing the Executive Directors of the White House Initiative on Education Excellence for Hispanics and IME (Institute of Mexicans Abroad) Together for Liberty's Hispanic Education Summit 2012

On June 1st, 2012, these governmental leaders will meet with local University and high school educators, and Latino leaders from Virginia to discuss deployable processes to address the issues with education for Hispanics in the U.S. hosted by Liberty’s Una Familia Sin Fronteras Hispanic Initiative and Foundation.

Liberty Tax Service, the fastest-growing tax preparation company in the industry’s history, continues its commitment to the Hispanic community by creating and hosting HISPANIC EDUCATION SUMMIT 2012. This first-of-its-kind Summit will be attended by Jose Rico, Executive Director of the White House Initiative on Education Excellence for Hispanics, Mr. Javier Diaz de Leon, Executive Director of IME (Institute for Mexicans Abroad), joining us from Mexico City along with a delegation from IME, and Virginia educators and Hispanic leaders.

Liberty’s Hispanic initiative and Foundation, “Una Familia Sin Fronteras” (A Family without Boundaries), has gathered these leaders together in an effort to continue its commitment to provide free financial and fiscal education for Hispanics across the U.S., and to bring attention and deployable solutions to the issues of higher education for Latinos in general.

“Working to provide education and personal growth opportunities for our Latino neighbors has been a personal priority and a key directive for Liberty for some time,” explains John Hewitt, Founder and CEO of Liberty Tax Service. “Through the efforts of our Una Familia Sin Fronteras initiative and Foundation, we have been able to fulfill this commitment and I am proud to share that we have been instrumental in helping direct a large number of individuals from this emerging majority that is our Hispanic population, on the path to financial solvency and independence. For this reason, through our Hispanic initiative and Foundation, we will continue to provide our underserved communities across the nation with access to free financial and fiscal education in an effort to help them reach their American dream.”

Liberty’s Una Familia Sin Fronteras is an educational outreach program that brings financial and fiscal education seminars and courses to Hispanic communities across the nation, at no cost. Courses and seminars are taught in Spanish and many qualify for college credits through the University of Phoenix. Partnering with over 400 public sector and governmental agencies nationally, including school districts, universities, the White House Initiative on Education Excellence for Hispanics, The U. S. Dept. of Education and its FAFSA program, nonprofits, Mexican Consulates, Headstarts, churches, and libraries, to name a few, Liberty Tax Service has kept free outreach education services and higher education opportunities as the focus of the Una Familia Sin Fronteras corporate initiative and Foundation.

“The issue of education for Hispanics in the U.S. is a constant concern and one in which Liberty has chosen to take a leading role,” explains Martee Pierson, Liberty’s Director of Diversity Programs and Executive Director of the Una Familia Sin Fronteras Foundation. “We are thrilled that we were able to bring these exceptional Hispanic leaders together in an effort to work towards deployable solutions that will benefit our Latino communities across the U.S. This Summit will be used as a model that we can take to other states to help in synergizing the efforts of so many leaders and educators who are all working toward the same goal.”

To date, the Una Familia Sin Fronteras initiative and Foundation have reached hundreds of thousands of Hispanics across the U.S. with free vital information that will help them more successfully enter our mainstream economy.

The Summit Meeting will be held at the Virginia Beach Convention Center on Friday, June 1st at 10:00 a.m. The Press is welcome to attend.
