Jupiter, Florida, Vacation Sales & Rental Realty Celebrates 30 Years in Waterfront Community

10 Years as Weichert, Realtors - Sherlock Home Finders

Jupiter, Florida (PRWEB) May 31, 2012 - The Jupiter, Florida-based vacation sales and rental realty named WEICHERT, REALTORS® - Sherlock Home Finders, Inc., marks its 30th anniversary of service in the waterfront and resort market, and 10 years as a member of Weichert Real Estate Affiliates (WREA). Broker/Owner Rick Clegg is also founder of the now 15-year-old Jupiter Outdoor Center (JOC) and kayaking, camp and stand-up paddle-boarding business, and was founder of the now famous Guanabanas Restaurant, the waterfront restaurant which opened in 2004 and has become a “phenomenon” in South Florida.

The Jupiter, Florida-based vacation sales, rental and property management realty, WEICHERT, REALTORS® - Sherlock Home Finders, Inc., marks its 30th anniversary of service to the waterfront and resort market, and 10 years as a member of Weichert Real Estate Affiliates (WREA). Broker/Owner Rick Clegg was, in fact, the first to sign on with the Weichert franchise organization now serving some 300 markets in 37 states coast to coast. The Weichert agency is the only real estate company making its home on the Jupiter Inlet Aquatic Preserve.

Since its inception as Jupiter's first real estate company specializing in rentals and property management, the company named for the famous British sleuth has prospered and evolved into a full service real estate company. Along with second homes and vacation living, rentals are a very strong suit for the company, since much of the business comes from the Tri-state area (New York, New Jersey, Connecticut). Since 1987, Clegg has held a Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation from The Institute of Real Estate Management, an affiliate of the National Association of REALTORS®. He served as president of the Institute’s Palm Beach County Chapter in 1991, and he was a member of the national faculty of the organization from 1991 to 1996, presenting day- and week-long seminars to REALTORS® across the country.

The Clegg name has been synonymous with professional and innovative real estate service ever since 1962, when Elizabeth Nash Clegg sold her first house in Marlborough, Connecticut, and with her husband, opened a real estate company, The Howard B. Clegg Agency. The area's first Realtor agency prospered and soon moved from its converted garage at the Clegg home to the in-town, landmark, four-corners location where son Rick began his career in 1975.

After working with his family between semesters at the University of Miami and receiving a bachelor's degree in finance, Rick Clegg opened Sherlock Home Finders in Jupiter, Florida in 1982. That same year, the Clegg family winter home in Tequesta since 1976 became their permanent home as Rick's father sold Clegg Realty in Connecticut to join forces with son Rick in Jupiter.

The Jupiter based sales team has been earning awards from WREA since 2002. This year, Casey Baker was recognized as Top Producing Rookie for the entire South Florida region. The company is also known for being involved in the community. Clegg is currently on the town of Jupiter’s Committee for Eco-Tourism and Palm Beach County’s Visitors and Convention Bureau Task Force on Marine Eco-Tourism.

When he’s not emerged in real estate and the community, Clegg is deep in Florida water activities, as founder of the now 15-year-old Jupiter Outdoor Center and kayaking, camp and stand-up paddle-boarding business. He was also founder of the now famous Guanabanas Restaurant. The waterfront restaurant opened its doors in 2004 and has become a “phenomenon” in South Florida, Clegg said.

One customer’s comment best summarizes the double impact of his relationship with the agency and its offspring. "Sherlock has been managing our resort condo at the beach since the 1980s. We love Sherlock and their affiliated business, The Jupiter Outdoor Center and Guanabanas. Rick gets us out on guided kayak and stand up paddle board eco-tours whenever we are visiting the area. The Center and Guanabanas really personify the tropical Florida lifestyle.”

WEICHERT, REALTORS® - Sherlock Home Finders, Inc. is located at the Jupiter Inlet Village, 810 Saturn Street, Suite 20 at Parkway Plaza, telephone 561-747-7368.
