Dippin’ Dots Opens New Store at Ala Moana Center in Honolulu, Hawaii

Dippin’ Dots ice cream joins the line up of nearly 300 stores and restaurants in the Ala Moana Center, Hawaii’s premier shopping center.

June 7, 2012 - After a two year hiatus, Honolulu Mayor Peter Carlisle welcomes the return of Dippin’ Dots to the world’s largest open-air shopping center with a ribbon cutting this Friday, June 8th at 11:30 a.m. Festivities will continue until 7:00 p.m. Friday and will resume on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Customers will have an opportunity to participate in contests and receive free prizes and Dippin’ Dots ice cream coupons.

Located inside the Boardwalk Treats candy shop, the Ala Moana Dippin’ Dots location is operated by Dippin’ Dots franchisee Todd Stockwell who also owns and operates a Boardwalk Treats Dippin’ Dots location in Lexington, Kentucky. Stockwell has been serving up the original beaded ice cream treat for over 20 years.

“Although we have served Dippin’ Dots for 20 years, it is always a treat to watch kids and adults try the products for the first time and see the expression on their faces, and we look forward to bring the product to new customers from this new location for years to come,” Stockwell said.

This sweet treat destination will offer over a dozen Dippin’ Dots flavors and over 150 bins of candy confection.

The Ala Moana location joins roughly a dozen spots where Dippin’ Dots can be found in Hawaii, including two other franchise location on the island of Oahu in Waipahu and Pearl City, and attractions like the USS Missouri Memorial, Honolulu Zoo and Wet’n’Wild Hawaii water park.

Despite its fair distribution in Honolulu County, Dippin’ Dots corporate has its sights set on expanded distribution throughout the Hawaiian Islands.

"We recognize the demand for Dippin' Dots products throughout the islands of Hawaii,” said Dippin’ Dots, LLC Chief Executive Officer Curt Jones. “Through some strategic planning, we believe we can set in place a distribution model that will provide Hawaii residents and visitors with more opportunities to get their favorite Dippin' Dots treats."
