Sarku Japan® Continues Northeast Expansion with the Opening of Teriyaki and Sushi Express in East Brunswick, New Jersey

New Stores also Planned for Ramsey and West New York, NJ

June 13, 2012 // Franchising.com // EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ – Sarku Japan®, the largest and most successful Japanese Quick Service Restaurant chain (QSR) in the United States, continues the northeast expansion of its free-standing concept, Teriyaki and Sushi Express, with the grand opening of a fourth New Jersey franchise in East Brunswick. Located at 623 Route 18 South, the restaurant will feature chefs preparing made-to-order sushi and signature teriyaki recipes on a Teppanyaki grill, fresh for guests to enjoy. Free-standing concepts are also planned for Ramsey and West New York, New Jersey.

After running a mid-sized paper and plastic goods distribution company for 18 years, local franchisees, Paul and Shelly Fung, decided they wanted to try the restaurant business.

While attending a Sarku Japan Franchising seminar, they discovered the benefits of owning their own franchise and recognized Sarku’s program as a smart investment opportunity.

“We are pleased to be introducing East Brunswick to Sarku Japan as a healthy and tasty alternative to traditional fast food,” said Mr. Fung. “Always trans-fat free with no MSG added, Sarku uses only the finest ingredients in preparing its fresh, made-to-order sushi and teriyaki.”

“Many of our franchisees have made career changes with their decision to open a Sarku Japan® franchise,” says Bruce Kim, Assistant Vice President of Franchise Development. “We have former bankers, technical engineers, and sales and marketing professionals all finding success in owning and operating their own restaurant.”

In addition to New Jersey, Sarku has six new free-standing stores planned for Metro New York including East Meadow, two in Queens, Yonkers, Brooklyn and Harlem.

According to Kim, with the popularity of healthy Japanese quick service food like teriyaki and sushi on the rise, there has never been a better time to open a Sarku Japan® franchise.

The company offers franchisee support in all areas including training, operations, and marketing.

Sarku Japan® is now accepting franchise applications from qualified applicants. For more information, visit http://www.sarkujapan.com, call 1-800-668-3858 ext. 694, or email smkfranchising@sarkujapan.com.
