BookKeeping Express 'Balances' Old Tampa Bay’s Businesses’ Need for Certified Services with Grand Opening of First Area Office
Local Entrepreneur Opens Old Tampa Bay’s First BookKeeping Express Office; Expands to Offer Old Tampa Bay’s Businesses Professional Bookkeeping Services
June 14, 2012 // Franchising.com // TAMPA BAY, Fla. – BookKeeping Express, the first U.S. franchise focused solely on bookkeeping services, recently opened its first office in Clearwater serving businesses throughout the Old Tampa Bay region.
BookKeeping Express offers a much-needed service to businesses, so they can get back to doing what they do best.
“Our service helps to alleviate a void that exists locally for skilled bookkeeping services that are specifically focused on the business community,” said Carlos Diaz, owner of the new BookKeeping Express office in Clearwater. “We are excited about serving the Old Tampa Bay area and setting our roots deep in the business community. BookKeeping Express has more than 20 years of experience in the industry, and its proven business model will provide us with the marketing and operations support we need to help grow the business, thus allowing us to help our clients grow theirs.”
Diaz, a 25-year Tampa Bay resident, holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Oklahoma State University. After college, he played professional baseball with the Toronto Blue Jays and other organizations for close to 10 years and also worked as an auditor for Arthur Andersen during the off season. Following his professional baseball career, Diaz earned his CPA license and joined an international shipping company out of Tampa where he developed and led a global business unit. Diaz traveled throughout the world coaching, managing and mentoring his commercial and operational members on how to sell and operate the business unit’s services. Subsequently, he joined a Hong Kong based logistics company managing their U.S. and Latin American offices with more than 100 employees. His desire to transform business leaders and passion to make a positive impact on the local business community, led him to obtain his business coaching certification.
Recognizing an added void in the market, he diversified his portfolio and joined the Bookkeeping Express national network to serve the bookkeeping needs of his local community. Through these services, Diaz believes he can have a greater impact on a wider spectrum of the business community. In addition to being a serial entrepreneur, Diaz is happily married with two children. Carlos and his wife Lori are supporters of various charities and members of nonprofit organizations such as MLBPAA, APBA and the Safety Harbor Chamber of Commerce.
“So many otherwise sound businesses fail to account for their financial dealings, which in turn hinders their revenues and growth. They want to efficiently move forward, but without knowing how to best utilize their financial data, they often feel frustrated and overwhelmed…and that’s where we come in,” added Diaz. “The benefits of allowing BookKeeping Express to maintain their books with CPA oversight throughout the year are enormous from a cost standpoint...particularly in the current economic climate. Without this kind of partnership expertise, I see too many business owners experiencing the negative impact of falling behind on their financial records.”
BookKeeping Express’ services include setting up charts of accounts and general ledgers, monthly data entry, processing and managing accounts payable and accounts receivable, producing monthly reports and tax reporting. Plus, BookKeeping Express utilizes an Alternative Pricing Model that is based on the clients’ needs instead of a one-size-fits-all, hourly billing approach.
The expansion into the Old Tampa Bay area is part of the company’s aggressive national development plans which call for more than 400 new territories throughout the United States.
“The business community is growing in Old Tampa Bay and around the country, and BookKeeping Express is expanding with it, providing qualified individuals with a niche franchise option that caters to this growing segment,” said Greg Jones, CEO of BookKeeping Express. “We are looking to grow with franchise partners such as Carlos who are serious about owning a business and sincere about their desire to fill a void in their communities with our distinctive services.”
In addition, the new BookKeeping Express office offers the BKE Connect system, which allows businesses access to all bookkeeping files remotely through an outside server, as well as a dashboard that clearly and visually ‘sums’ up the business’ operations for thorough analysis. Plus, business owners can synchronize their QuickBooks and enjoy convenient, anytime access to their financial documents through BKE EDocs, a new electronic filing system designed to provide secure, online storage of financial documents.
