Celebrating 25 Years and Over 1 Million Students Globally: International Educator Helen Doron’s Book Now Available in Kindle Edition
The Music of Language, highlighting the history of the world-renowned linguist’s educational company and teaching methodologies, is now available in Kindle format.
Misgav, Israel (PRWEB) June 14, 2012 - Helen Doron’s new book, The Music of Language, is now available for the Amazon Kindle. In The Music of Language, Helen narrates the genesis of her groundbreaking teaching method and explains how she turned her insight, that young children can easily learn English as a second language, into the foundation of an international educational franchise company. The Music of Language starts at the beginning, with Helen’s own story, before moving on to discuss the pedagogic background of her method, and concludes with a series of notes from franchisees and teachers in the Helen Doron network.
Much more a history of the business, it is also the inspirational story of one woman’s life and her determination to make a positive contribution to the world.
The Helen Doron methodology was developed and pioneered by the linguist and educator and launched in 1985. The unique methodology allows children as young as three months to learn English just like they learn their mother tongue, through repeated hearing and positive reinforcement. Helen Doron's inspiration for the methodology came when her 4-year old daughter learnt to play the violin with the Suzuki Method. Dr Sinichi Suzuki called his method "the mother-tongue approach" to learning music, as he taught the children to play the violin by listening to music before reading notation.
As Dr Suzuki talked of teaching 'the language of music', Helen realized that this is what had been missing in the teaching of language to children worldwide. Without a doubt, they needed to learn 'the music of language'. Just as babies and infants learn their mother tongue by hearing words, sentences, songs and stories over and over again, and receiving positive feedback from their caretakers, so children can learn a foreign language using this same natural technique. In addition, the teachings of Glenn Doman and his Institutes for the Achievement of Human Potential were an important influence on the Helen Doron methodology, as his research highlights children's incredible potential and pinpointed ways to achieve it.
Today, the Helen Doron English system offers a large number of courses in English for children from only 3 months up to 18 years. To date, more than 1 million children have learned English through this method. The Helen Doron method is communicated through play, games, stories, workbooks, flashcards, story cards, original songs and music, in order to reinforce spoken English, pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, as well as reading and writing for older children. All of the Helen Doron Early English programmes feature exclusive music and lyrics written especially for each target age group and level, and are an integral part of the learning process.
Helen Doron English classes for all age groups maintain a fun, nurturing and motivating environment, concentrating on learning English in an enjoyable and natural way. Twenty different courses are available for students of all ages, from babies to teenagers.
