Cincinnati, Ohio (PRWEB) June 18, 2012 - Tara Tooley is bringing Fresh Coat Painters to Kansas with the launch of her franchise serving Overland Park and surrounding areas. She said she decided to buy the franchise because of its commitment to client satisfaction. “I know that is what’s missing in most home service interactions,” she said. “With Fresh Coat, we hire our employees. We don’t use subcontractors. We do background checks, and our workers are bonded and insured. And we have a client service manager assigned to every job. Clients get the attention they deserve.”
Fresh Coat Painters has expanded into Kansas with the addition of Tara Tooley’s franchise to serve Overland Park, Shawnee, Lenexa, Olathe, Gardner, Spring Hill, Stilwell and their surrounding Johnson County communities southwest of Kansas City.
Tooley said her first-hand experiences showed her that many of those in the service industry need to adjust their actions to better serve their clients. She has assisted her husband with his roofing and insulation business and had worked as an insurance adjuster herself. In both roles, she saw situations when clients were left in a lurch or were misled in some way by individuals or companies hired to address a client’s specific problems.
“Fresh Coat is client-driven,” she said. “And that’s what sold me. I know that is what’s missing in most home service interactions. With Fresh Coat, we hire our employees. We don’t use subcontractors. We do background checks, and our workers are bonded and insured. And we have a client service manager assigned to every job. Clients get the attention they deserve.”
Bernie Brozek, president of Fresh Coat, said that focus on clients is the foundation for the company’s business model.
“We are striving to alter the image of the industry, which has been tarnished by too many fly-by-night operators,” he said. “Complaints of no-shows, unfinished work or poor quality have led to a lack of trust among potential clients. Our structure helps address those concerns because clients get the best skills of all involved from the initial phone call throughout the project and into the follow-up.
“Tara’s experience will serve her well,” he added. “Like our other owners, she understands that client service is critical to her long-term success. Our structure allows owners to market and promote the business while client service managers and painters deliver quality work on time and on budget. Each person focuses on what he or she does best, and clients reap the benefits.”
For Tooley, the potential for long-term success was another variable in her decision to buy the franchise.
“Painting is basically recession-proof,” she said. “When people are building, they need to paint. When they’re remodeling, they need to paint. When they’re selling, they need to paint. When they’ve just bought, they usually want to paint. And, from my experience, it’s an area where there is a lack of client service. As a business professional, I saw this as a great opportunity.”
In addition, she said, she is a creative person who enjoys sharing her ideas and helping people fulfill their vision. “I like that kind of stuff.”
Tooley is not intimidated by being a woman in a male-dominated industry, she said.
“As a two-time cancer survivor, I’m pretty fearless,” she said. “And being a woman in this field in some ways has its advantages. Many of those purchasing the services are women, so they may want to work with another woman. And as an owner, I want to promote the success of other women, and if I can find quality female painters, I want to give them a chance to grow with my company.”
Tooley already has joined SuccessKC, a Kansas City area women’s professional referral networking group of service providers and business owners committed to exceeding client expectations and surrounding themselves with other professionals of the same mindset.
“I want to set an example for my daughter, too,” Tooley said. “She’s 8 and has already demonstrated that she has a mind for business. I want her growing up and seeing herself as a successful business woman.”
Brozek welcomes Tooley’s energy and enthusiasm because Fresh Coat’s goal is to help its owners succeed.
“Our owners come from all walks of life with very diverse backgrounds,” he said. “We strive to complement their inherent abilities with top-notch marketing, training and resource materials.”
Among those are several client-service offerings including a 24/7 call center, proprietary EPIC estimating system, Paint Now-Pay Later same-as-cash financing, Automatic Touch-Up for businesses, and fund-raising opportunities for charities.
“I really like the 24/7 call center,” Tooley said. “It’s been proven that when a potential client doesn’t get a live person, they’ll usually hang up and call the next name on their list. With our service, clients can call whenever it’s convenient for them, get their questions answered, and even schedule an appointment.”
The EPIC system also ensures clients receive an actual quote, rather than estimate, for their project.
“Too often the client gets a hand-written estimate scribbled on the back of a business card,” Tooley said. “With us, that client gets a computer-generated printout complete with details such as square footage, hours to complete the job, and the total costs including the paint. It’s much more professional.”
