Watermill Express Supports Jump Rope for Heart Event
Brighton, Colo. – May 30, 2012 – Watermill Express, the nation’s largest drive-up vendor of pure drinking water, provided water to the Jump Rope for Heart event at Sam’s Stadium in Brownsville, Texas.
Watermill Express donated 100 gallons of water and 60 pounds of Waterocks® Ice to approximately 900 students and faculty from 17 Brownsville elementary schools during the event. Watermill Express also donated five bicycles and 20 reusable water bottles to students who raised the most money for the American Heart Association.
The Jump Rope for Heart is a national educational fund raising program that teaches elementary school students the importance of physical activity in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle. The event promotes the value of exercise, as well as the importance of giving back to the community. Money raised at the event goes to support lifesaving heart and stroke research.
The American Heart Foundation uses this program to increase physical activity among elementary aged children. Regular periods of moderate or physical activity enhance the health, academic performance and attitudes of children in the classroom.
